Quality Control Technician Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a secure work environment while adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Assess product quality to uphold exceptional standards.
  • Accurately operate Optical Emissions Spectrometers.
  • Measure and record data for machined, extruded, rolled, and cast components.
  • Oversee and sustain the calibration system for measurement instruments.
  • Execute and evaluate the 6S methodology within the Quality Control Laboratory.
  • Examine defective items and perform Rockwell Hardness Testing.
  • Create Certificates of Analysis and Conformance.
  • Prepare items for distribution and support Quality System Audits.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional assessments on incoming materials.
  • Manage controlled document archives and testing records.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the metalworking sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience with portable measuring arms.
  • Certification in forklift and crane operation is advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-driven and independent with robust problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret governmental and industry standards.
  • Skilled in reading and measuring machined components from technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
  • Commitment to Continuous Improvement practices.

Physical Demands:

  • Capability to ascend stairs and work during second shift hours.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours daily.
  • Willingness to wear necessary personal protective equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
