Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Inspector role is pivotal in guaranteeing the quality and adherence to standards of TASSCO's products throughout the production cycle. This position necessitates meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of industry regulations, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with manufacturing and engineering teams to uphold TASSCO's esteemed quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Interpret job requirements and technical schematics to execute inspections accurately.
- Perform quality assessments and tests utilizing precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Document and communicate inspection findings, including any identified defects or inconsistencies, and collaborate with the manufacturing team to address issues.
- Maintain comprehensive records of inspection data and quality control documentation.
- Engage in design evaluations and contribute insights for the continuous enhancement of manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Work alongside the engineering team to confirm that designs comply with technical specifications and standards.
- Possess an understanding of steel fabrication and machining practices to identify the capabilities and limitations of equipment and materials.
- Communicate effectively with TASSCO personnel, clients, and sales representatives to provide professional guidance regarding quality specifications and job requirements.
- Enhance product and service knowledge to bolster TASSCO's business prospects with both new and existing clients.
Required Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in quality control and inspection within a manufacturing environment focused on steel plate and structural components.
- Expertise in utilizing measuring instruments and inspection tools.
- Understanding of plate steel design and fabrication techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, welding, and CNC machining.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve quality-related challenges.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
- A minimum of three years of experience in steel fabrication manufacturing or similar production roles, or one year of experience with an associate degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP software systems.
- Bachelor's or Technical Degree in a relevant field.
- Certification as a Welding Inspector from the American Welding Society (CAWI/CWI) is highly desirable, indicating proficiency in AWS D1.1 structural welding code.
