Position Overview


The Culinary Instructor will collaborate with the Executive Culinary Director to ensure a safe and productive learning environment for students. This role involves teaching all facets of food preparation and service within a culinary setting, upholding exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and food quality, as well as overseeing daily café operations.



Primary Responsibilities



Student Development & Guidance (50%)

  • Facilitate back-of-house student training, contributing to the culinary curriculum, conducting initial kitchen training sessions, and guiding students throughout the service phase of the program.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating professionalism, strong work ethic, organizational skills, and sanitation practices.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging work atmosphere.
  • Maintain transparent communication with students and the program team.


Café Performance & Community Interaction (20%):

  • Track menu sales in collaboration with the Culinary and Operations teams.
  • Provide insights to enhance marketing strategies aimed at boosting sales.
  • Build and nurture guest relationships to encourage repeat patronage.
  • Support off-site catering initiatives as required.


Kitchen Management (30%)

  • Establish and uphold all service standards within the kitchen.
  • Manage supply orders and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Assist with scheduling, menu creation, cost management, inventory oversight, labor control, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Coordinate family meals and develop specials with a focus on product utilization, organization, and cleanliness of storage areas.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are maintained in accordance with health standards.
