Job Summary

The UC San Diego Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking a highly skilled Education Programs Coordinator to provide administrative support to all departmental education programs. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for medical student clerkships, residency programs, and fellowship training programs. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate medical student clerkships, including planning and implementation of teaching and learning activities
  • Manage the neuro-endovascular fellowship program, including recruitment, onboarding, and accreditation
  • Provide administrative support for departmental education programs, including composing correspondence, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings
  • Process education program expense reports, payment authorizations, and reimbursements
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to ensure adherence to finance policies and procedures
Requirements
  • 6 years of related experience, education/training, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2 years of related experience/training
  • Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a faculty and residency recruitment process
  • Experience working as part of a team, including faculty, residents, and administrative staff
Special Conditions
  • Occasional early start times, evenings, and/or weekends may be required
  • Overtime may be required
  • Must be willing and able to travel between department locations
