Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Coordinator to support the development of clinical practice documents in evidence-based surgery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical research and a keen eye for detail.

As a key member of our team, you will assist in the development and implementation of materials designed to educate surgeon volunteers on STS clinical practice document policies and procedures. You will also ensure adherence to industry standards set by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) for developing clinical practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the status of clinical practice document development and provide updates to relevant writing groups, task forces, and workforces.
  • Create and maintain project-specific rosters, conflict of interest forms, voting forms, and other resources for clinical practice documents.
  • Support the Senior Manager in coordinating conference calls, sending out agendas, gathering supporting materials, and conducting administrative follow-up.
  • Coordinate activities to inform volunteer leaders about STS policies and procedures related to evidence-based surgery and clinical practice document development.
  • Assist with the STS guideline approval process and subsequent submission for publication in the Annals.
  • Create project plans containing key tasks, milestones, and deliverables and track progress.
  • Conduct systematic online literature searches and triage of articles as necessary.
  • Compile, enter, and edit text, references, recommendations, and tables/figures within clinical practice document manuscripts while maintaining version control.
  • Contribute and update content on the STS website related to clinical practice documents.
  • Coordinate the process for posting and updating STS guidelines on the National Guideline Clearinghouse website.
  • Assist at meetings and conventions.
