Responsibilities

The Monitor Technician is a critical member of our healthcare team, responsible for recognizing and interpreting cardiac rhythms in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.

  • Assume responsibility for continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms and reporting any significant changes or abnormalities.
  • Interpret EKG strips and provide accurate readings to healthcare professionals.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and notify licensed nurses of any critical changes or conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including running EKG strips and providing initial interpretations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a Monitor Technician Course or Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Competency.
  • Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or paramedic is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.
