Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our vibrant retirement community.

The Facilities Operations Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the physical environment of the community, ensuring adherence to safety regulations. Responsibilities include preserving the structural integrity of the premises and managing all maintenance-related tasks, encompassing HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and appliance upkeep. This position also involves overseeing preventative maintenance initiatives and supervising the maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize various maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Prioritize and manage service requests and repairs to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the grounds and facilities to uphold safety and aesthetic standards.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents promptly.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents and maintain open communication with staff and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to secure competitive bids for maintenance services.
  • Adhere to budgetary constraints while managing expenses.
  • Order supplies and services through established procurement processes.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of maintenance supplies.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise the maintenance and housekeeping teams.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies within the community.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and safety regulations.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and implement solutions.

Qualifications:

  • A collaborative mindset with a genuine passion for serving the senior community.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing maintenance for residential or senior living facilities.
  • A degree from a technical school or college is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and a well-rounded technical maintenance background.
  • Proficiency in HVAC, electrical work, drywall repair, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience in commercial property management or hospitality is advantageous.
