Position eligible for a sign-on bonus

The Health Services Coordinator plays a crucial role at VQ Inc. by leading the team in delivering

non-clinical health services. This position involves assessing, facilitating, and overseeing all facets of medical care for unaccompanied minors. The Coordinator focuses on health maintenance and disease prevention, working closely with healthcare providers to guarantee that children in our care receive optimal health services and prompt medical attention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regulatory Compliance:
o Stay informed about all relevant local, state, and federal regulations regarding

medical coordination and services for unaccompanied minors.

o Uphold the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

o Ensure accurate maintenance of medical records for each admission.

o Maintain daily documentation in the VQ database and relevant portals, along with

hard copies of essential documents and medical records.

o Ensure all documentation, including medication logs, complies with VQ, ORR, and licensing standards.

Medical Services Coordination:
o Ensure timely access to medical, dental, and related services for children with local

providers, adhering to ORR and state licensing timelines.

o Arrange and provide transportation for children to medical appointments with assistance from

program staff as needed.

o Collaborate with health professionals to uphold health and safety standards, including

licensing, disease reporting, immunizations, injury prevention, and medication management for out-of-home childcare, while also being aware of community health and mental health resources for children.

o Attend medical, dental, and mental health appointments when necessary to support the medical department or assist children with complex medical needs.

o Assist medical staff during examinations as required.

o Dispense over-the-counter and prescribed medications to children according to VQ's self-administration policy.

o Respond promptly to individual emergency medical needs of children in care.


o Educate and counsel children regarding their health conditions, treatments, and disease prevention, while informing staff as appropriate.


Collaboration and Communication:
o Maintain professionalism when interacting with stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships.

o Collaborate with management team members to ensure effective communication and coordination among all personnel, leadership, and corporate staff.


o Participate in all departmental and program meetings to stay updated on information and adhere to policy changes or practices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the child welfare sector, working with children and/or adolescents in a social service environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Flexible schedule (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) to support program services.
  • Must have cleared tuberculosis test results.
  • Must pass a drug test.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations.
  • Must have cleared background checks from relevant entities, including Child Abuse and Neglect and FBI.

  • Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible to drive as required for program services.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds infrequently.
  • Tasks may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50% of the day.
  • May bend, stoop, reach, and grasp as necessary.
  • Must be able to provide First Aid and CPR.
  • Must be able to perform physical holds as instructed in Crisis Prevention Intervention training (CPI).

The pay range for this role is:

USD per hour.
