Position Summary:

The OCOK Staff Development Trainer will collaborate closely with the Permanency Training Supervisor and Director to enhance the skills and knowledge of both new and experienced employees. This role involves designing and implementing comprehensive training programs focused on permanency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate specialized training sessions and workshops that align with OCOK's performance objectives related to child safety, well-being, and permanency.
  • Develop engaging training curricula that reflect a commitment to the professional growth of OCOK staff.
  • Utilize various training delivery methods, including in-person, online, and blended formats, to reach diverse learning styles.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in social services or organizational leadership/management is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years in a child welfare-related role or as a trainer in a social service environment is essential. Proven training skills are advantageous.

Skills Required:

  • Experience in conducting in-person training and familiarity with learning management systems.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Moodle is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Texas Child Welfare laws and operational procedures.

Working Conditions:

This role involves significant computer usage and administrative tasks in a collaborative office environment. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary.
