Position Overview:

The Flight Test Engineer (FTE) is responsible for conducting comprehensive research, strategic planning, and execution of developmental and operational testing for aircraft and associated systems. This role encompasses data analysis, engineering reporting, and thorough documentation of test events tailored for Department of Defense (DOD) clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize a multidisciplinary engineering approach to address complex challenges involving integrated systems such as aircraft, avionics, unmanned systems, and electronic warfare.
  • Develop and implement a robust test and evaluation strategy, including the creation of an integrated test and evaluation master plan.
  • Formulate test objectives, methodologies, and evaluation criteria to ensure thorough assessment of systems.
  • Produce detailed plans for lab, ground, and flight tests, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Oversee the collection and instrumentation of test data, conducting initial assessments to verify data integrity.
  • Act as the engineering subject matter expert for all test and evaluation events, leading technical meetings and safety boards.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess experience in military system testing and flight-test engineering, with a background in analyzing military test data. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with advanced degrees and additional experience in weapon system test events are preferred.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be necessary, ranging from 10% to 25%.
