Job Overview

Position: RF/Radar Systems Engineer
Type: Contract-to-Hire

Role Objective

The RF/Radar Systems Engineer collaborates with a dedicated team to execute sophisticated system and algorithm advancements by employing established engineering methodologies. Through comprehensive trade studies and requirements assessments, radar systems engineers devise solutions that fulfill system specifications and engage in all facets of radar system architecture. Responsibilities encompass the complete architectural design of radar systems, exploration and innovation of algorithms to enhance key sensor functionalities by utilizing signal processing methods and novel waveform creation, as well as the development of intricate simulations for algorithm and system verification or to aid in operational software creation. Additional tasks include designing sensor modes to optimize performance, gathering and analyzing data from laboratory or flight evaluations, and ensuring that the final design adheres to all system specifications.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish requirements and guide team members in conducting design and theoretical research, along with laboratory testing as the task leader.
  • Provide mentorship to colleagues in broad areas of design, theory, and testing.
  • Document design, theory, and testing efforts in both written and presentation formats as the team lead.
  • Oversee the coordination of documentation contributions from the team.
  • Lead the creation of whitepapers and proposals in areas of technical expertise.
  • Engage with sponsors and potential sponsors as the primary lead.
  • Author comprehensive technical reports, presentations, journal articles, and conference materials.

Additional Duties

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in RF system development.
  • Provide expertise in antenna design, development, and testing.
  • Evaluate RF system capabilities for new designs, development, and manufacturing.
  • Assist in proposal development by generating technical content and estimating effort levels.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5-13 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (or related field); or
    3-11 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree (or related field); or
    2+ years of relevant experience with a PhD.
