Job Overview

Apex Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Architect to enhance our technical team. This role is pivotal in guiding the design and execution of complex systems projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and stakeholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all technical facets of system design, coordinating resources for large-scale deployments.
  • Manage subcontractor contributions across various engineering disciplines, ensuring cohesive project execution.
  • Translate intricate requirements into tangible system architectures, defining both internal and external interfaces.
  • Generate comprehensive technical documentation and diagrams that articulate system attributes.
  • Ensure security configurations meet industry standards, validating compliance with protocols such as STIGS and CMMC.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to derive actionable tasks from detailed requirements, delegating responsibilities effectively.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Implement systems engineering methodologies, including functional decomposition and requirements development.
  • Support both industry and DoD sponsors in applying systems engineering principles to design and acquisition processes.
  • Deliver technical presentations to government sponsors, showcasing project management and engineering insights.
  • Facilitate system integration efforts within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Lead a diverse team of engineers in a project or task leadership capacity.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in Electronic Warfare system development.
  • Expertise in the Systems Engineering process, including documentation and testing.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering and Systems Modeling Language (SysML) principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of an active Secret Clearance.
  • Experience in building and maintaining SysML models.
  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering practices.
  • Background in designing and executing systems engineering solutions for Electronic Warfare or avionics systems.
  • Understanding of architectures, functions, and interfaces related to EW and avionics systems.
  • Experience in developing and executing test cases for hardware and software systems in various environments.
Travel Requirements

Minimal travel required.

Education and Experience
  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
  • 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related engineering field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience with a Ph.D. in a related engineering field.
