The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for managing a high volume of incoming telephone inquiries and processing various account transactions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle multiple tasks efficiently, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit patience and professionalism in all customer interactions, maintaining a courteous demeanor.
  • Manage a flexible schedule across various shifts, from early mornings to late evenings.
  • Utilize basic computer skills to learn and navigate member management software effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with members over the phone, delivering outstanding service.
  • Provide detailed information regarding the Credit Union's products and services.
  • Assess membership eligibility and process various financial transactions, including withdrawals and loan payments.
  • Investigate and resolve member inquiries and issues, performing necessary account maintenance and data entry.
  • Maintain awareness of call volume and meet established service requirements.
  • Participate in job-specific training and complete compliance training as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Prior experience in a financial institution or customer service environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of Credit Union products, services, and regulatory compliance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with members and staff.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working under close supervision.

Preferred Education:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • 1-5 years in banking, hospitality, or customer service roles is preferred.
