  • Developing timelines to ensure timely publishing of media on internal platforms, ensuring content is appropriately planned for the target audience.
  • Assisting with editing and placing written content related to enterprise-wide initiatives, including human resources, benefits, and recognition for VCU Health System units, services, and team members.
  • Identifying and developing story ideas and writing feature articles for VCU Health platforms to highlight exceptional work and contribute to positive team member experiences.
  • Creating and organizing content for local, regional, and national healthcare industry recognition campaigns.
  • Producing and editing content for internal channels related to team member and physician communications, including newsletters, fact sheets, FAQs, meeting materials, talking points, and presentations.
  • Representing the communications team on enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Supporting up to four enterprise-level events annually with communications and logistical planning to enhance team member engagement.
  • Collaborating with marketing and social media professionals to create copy for content campaigns related to the team member experience.
  • Exhibiting judgment, resourcefulness, and the ability to identify issues or areas that require different approaches.
  • Participating in department meetings and assisting in setting goals and evaluation techniques to assess effectiveness.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or a relevant field.
  • One to three years of experience in public relations or communications.
  • Understanding of the importance of clearly defined writing.
  • Proficiency in digital communications.
  • Experience managing a content management system (CMS).
  • Proficiency in graphic design software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact across the VCU Health enterprise with all levels of management and team members.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality when necessary.
  • Strong ability to self-manage and proactively handle multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
