Job Summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurodiagnostic Technologist II to join our Sleep Laboratory team on a night shift basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting advanced sleep testing procedures, scoring records, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced sleep testing procedures, including EEGs and endarterectomy EEGs, in accordance with department protocols.
  • Score records, if trained, according to guidelines set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including educating patients on sleep disorders and treatment options.
  • Supervise and train Sleep Laboratory Technicians and Trainees.
  • Perform patient and equipment set-up, and ensure acceptable tracings per department policy and procedure.
  • Recognize and eliminate artifacts, and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Document patient information and study results accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
  • Two years of experience working in a sleep laboratory, including at least one year of specific training administered by an RPSGT and a Sleep Board Certified Medical Director.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine to practice Polysomnography.
