Job Summary

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting advanced sleep testing procedures and associated interventions. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced sleep testing procedures, including polysomnography and multiple sleep latency testing.
  • Recognize and interpret normal and abnormal sleep patterns, including sleep stages and artifacts.
  • Provide education to patients on sleep disorders and treatment options.
  • Supervise and train Sleep Laboratory Technicians and Trainees.
  • Perform patient and equipment set-up, and ensure accurate tracings per department policy and procedure.
  • Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias.
  • Score records according to guidelines set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
  • Assist with clerical and recordkeeping tasks within the lab.
  • Perform CPAP/BIPAP/ASV titrations and oxygen therapy according to department protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to elicit information and cooperation necessary to perform and complete studies.
  • Perform patient and equipment calibrations, and maintain equipment according to department policy.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine course of action.
  • Document patient information and study results accurately and thoroughly.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience working in a sleep laboratory, including at least one year of specific training administered by an RPSGT and a Sleep Board Certified Medical Director.
