Job Overview

RETTEW, a distinguished leader among engineering firms, is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Lead Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Team. The ideal candidate will take charge of the technical dimensions of various bridge initiatives, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines, while also mentoring junior engineers and nurturing client relationships.

We are particularly interested in candidates with outstanding capabilities in the innovative design and construction of composite steel and prestressed concrete bridges, as well as retaining walls and box culverts. Proficiency in 3D modeling or finite element analysis software will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical guidance for multiple bridge design projects.
  • Oversee project budgets and schedules to guarantee timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members, promoting a collaborative and positive work atmosphere.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients to enhance our client portfolio.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in bridge engineering.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in bridge design and engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in bridge design software and tools; familiarity with Microstation, Power InRoads, or OpenRoads is essential.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in bridge engineering.
  • Knowledge of PennDOT standards and design manuals is required.
  • Familiarity with ODOT or WVDOH standards and ODOT prequalification is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a knack for quickly addressing technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
