Role Summary:

The Project Engineer is accountable for managing overall project documentation and facilitating communication among team members, including the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, while overseeing field operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote safety initiatives.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Project Superintendent as required.
  • Review, submit, and track project submittals and requests.
  • Engage in client meetings and discussions with authorities and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with superintendents to prepare job schedules.
  • Draft correspondence and reports as needed.
  • Maintain organized job files, including correspondence and photographs.
  • Ensure current drawings are updated on Procore.
  • Manage RFI, Submittal, and change logs effectively.
  • Collaborate with Architects to distribute ASIs and update drawings electronically.
  • Work closely with the Project Estimator on additional work tasks.
  • Develop minor field estimates and negotiate small agreements in the field.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform other project-specific duties and communications as required from project initiation through the completion of warranty items.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not entail direct supervisory responsibilities; however, the Project Engineer will work closely with Superintendents, Field Foremen, and Field Crews.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A four-year degree from a college or technical school, or equivalent training, combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience.


Essential Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Expertise in Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience with Bluebeam software
  • Familiarity with Timberline/Sage and Procore
  • Ability to interpret project drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Competence in operating standard office equipment
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and activities simultaneously

Ability to perform calculations involving proportions and percentages, and apply basic algebra, geometry, and surveying concepts.


Reasoning Skills:

Ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Special Requirements: Must successfully pass controlled substance tests prior to and throughout employment.
