Job Summary:

The Data Strategist at Zimmerman Advertising plays a pivotal role in driving the agency's data capabilities forward. Reporting to the SVP of Retail Technologies, this individual will be responsible for orchestrating and automating data analytics pipelines while maintaining the highest level of quality and reliability.

This role requires a strong understanding of data governance rules and models, as well as experience with ETL processes and tools. The ideal candidate will be able to balance multiple concurrent projects and communicate analytical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to define, document, and support data needs.
  • Facilitate the automated ingestion and standardization of client and third-party data into data warehouses and other cloud-based storage solutions.
  • Act as a business/product owner of the agency's data visualization platform, Hyperlocal.
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and data governance of all stored information.
  • Develop a strong understanding of internal and external data sources.
  • Investigate and present data-based solutions that differentiate the agency, ensure innovation, and maintain our best-in-class position.

Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a comparable field of study.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with data, data integration technologies, and databases.
  • Experience with data governance rules and models.
  • Comfortable with new technologies and iterating quickly.
  • Able to balance multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools, Python, SQL, GIS software, Power BI, and API connections.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey analytical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
