The City of New York is seeking a Community Operations Liaison to oversee, assist, and coordinate services and activities with non-secure placement (NSP) and limited-secure placement (LSP) facilities.
The Community Operations Liaison will serve as an interagency liaison between ACS, contracted NSP and LSP service providers, and NYC Department of Education staff.
The duties and responsibilities of the Community Operations Liaison will include:
- Assist, initiate, and oversee resident transfers and appointments in NSP and LSP.
- Troubleshoot matters involving youth by providing technical assistance and support to providers and consult with providers about making programmatic adjustments.
- Conduct site visits to respond to incidents and emergent issues and ensure compliance with DYFJ policies and standards.
- Develop safe and secure youth plans for NSP and LSP programs and provide training and coaching to NSP and LSP providers around safety and security.
- Coordinate, develop and oversee programmatic services in collaboration with NSP and LSP providers, ensuring the staff pattern is appropriate.
- Provide input in formulating and interpreting policy to agency and nonagency contracted staff.
- Develop and assist strategies to reduce behavioral incidents, child abuse allegations, and absence without leave.
- Provide emergent/backup transportation for NSP and LSP youth when providers are not available to respond in a timely manner.
- Manage and report on quality and standards of service provided by contracted providers.
- Coordinate services with other City agencies and service providers, and perform other duties as needed in relation to the safety and service needs of youth.
- Develop and maintain statistical data on management indicators.
The selected candidate may be required to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends and must be willing to attend events and meetings in the community as well as travel to contracted provider agencies within the five boroughs and adjacent areas.
