Student Affairs Specialist

Savannah Technical College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Student Affairs Specialist. This role will be based at the Effingham Campus, with occasional travel to other Savannah Technical College locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic advising to students during registration periods.
  • Conduct information sessions for prospective students and their families.
  • Review and interpret college transcripts to make informed acceptance decisions.
  • Respond to application processing inquiries from new students.
  • Process new student applications and maintain accurate records.
  • Represent the college at recruitment events, such as high school visits and career fairs.
  • Communicate with the public, faculty, and staff to resolve student-related issues.
  • Assist with the annual college Job Fair and other student engagement initiatives.
  • Advise student groups and organizations on college policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a related field and three years of work experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of college programs, financial aid requirements, and related state and federal regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in computer software and systems, including Banner experience.
