Savannah Technical College is seeking a 12-month full-time faculty member to serve as a CNA/PCT Coordinator/Instructor. In addition to coordinating/instructing CNA/PCT, the successful candidate may be expected to provide instruction in the general health sciences core curriculum. The faculty member will provide theory and practical instruction to a level sufficient for students to develop the skills necessary to become employed in a post-secondary Health Science program or become employed in their chosen health care profession. The position also requires the supervision of students during patient care. The CNA/PCT Coordinator/Instructor will be responsible for the following duties:

Ensure compliance with Georgia Department of Community Health, Division of Medicaid, Nurse Aide Training Program policies and procedures; Develop, manage, and teach classes, delivering instruction both individually and as a member of a team; Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for nurse aide and patient care technician courses; Develop and coordinate curriculum conduct assessments of all courses taught in the department as requested; Evaluate effectiveness of courses through student data, graduate surveys, and employer surveys; Assist with developing yearly program budget; Complete reports and requests for information from internal and external departments and agencies; Lead and coordinate nurse aide advisory committee for the department; Participate in College committees and meetings; Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas; Instruct students, developing program syllabi, goals, and objectives; Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty; Manage adjunct faculty teaching schedules; Order and maintain equipment and supplies; Advise and register health sciences students; Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences; Follow policies/procedures of Savannah Technical College, to include standards for student-faculty professional relationships/interaction; Adhere to ANA standards of practice; Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited post-secondary institution. Two (2) years of RN nursing experience within the last seven years in the area of patient care and/or teaching. One (1) year of RN nursing experience in a long-term care facility (nursing home). Current unencumbered registered nursing license in the State of Georgia. Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Must possess valid driver's license and required insurability. Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and customer service skills. Proficient in base computer skills including, but not limited to MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Flexible to teach day or evening classes and 12-hour clinical rotations on weekdays and/or weekends including nights at any clinical facility in the college's service area.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited, post-secondary institution. Instructor certification for AHA CPR and First Aid preferred. Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS); Blackboard LMS platform preferred. Previous teaching experience in a Nursing curriculum preferred.

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
