Position Summary:

The Senior Restoration Technician is responsible for guiding a team of technicians through all stages of mitigation and environmental projects, from initiation to completion. This position reports to the Supervisor and may also work closely with the Project Manager and/or Branch Manager. Collaboration with various departments within the organization is essential.

Key Duties:

  • Maintain ongoing communication with key stakeholders, including the Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinator, to discuss project schedules, scope changes, materials, and personnel resources to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Oversee and direct staff in performing essential tasks to expedite job completion, including material procurement, moving client belongings, and executing high-quality repairs in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead a team of three or more technicians, providing supervision and guidance based on established job parameters.
  • Manage multiple job types daily, ranging from simple to complex and large loss projects.
  • Ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service and make recommendations for adjustments based on experience to best serve client and company interests.
  • Maintain the company-assigned vehicle and restock supplies as needed.
  • Complete and submit crew sheets and job notes at the end of each workday.
  • Act as a role model by adhering to and enforcing company policies and safety protocols while performing services.
  • Assist in the development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, and encouraging skill enhancement through constructive feedback.
  • Participate in job site safety briefings and provide training within the scope of expertise.
  • May serve as the company Site Safety Representative, applying knowledge of industry standards and safety training to enforce safety guidelines.
  • Accurately complete timecards in a timely manner and ensure crew members do the same.
  • Submit completed work orders, including measurements, moisture readings, and necessary documentation for the Project Manager to finalize billing.
  • Enhance trade skills through regular training provided by the company.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support personal professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a lead technician role within the construction or restoration/mitigation fields, or equivalent experience as a Lead Technician I.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (Class C).
  • Must be insurable.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Able to pass a Respirator Physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam.
  • Preferred industry certifications, with the ability to pass medical exams if required for certification.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Strong command of the English language (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Proficient in using software and applications for accessing documents, forms, reports, etc., and submitting them through company-approved methods.
  • Ability to effectively teach and contribute to the development of technicians through demonstration and fostering growth opportunities.
  • Solid understanding of safety guidelines and their application in daily tasks.
  • Successfully completed Site Safety Representative training.
  • Thorough knowledge of company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adherence to guidelines, sharing this knowledge with the crew through practical application.
  • Expertise in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary to complete tasks.
  • Focus on continuous personal growth and development, actively seeking feedback and applying learned lessons to benefit others.
  • Ability to interpret basic to complex instructions, plans, and guidelines (e.g., Material Data Sheets, schematics, drawings).

Working Environment:

  • Work is conducted at construction job sites, which may be unfinished, new, or damaged.
  • Repetitive left/right hand motions (use of hand and power tools).
  • Physical agility is required: bending, squatting, crawling, climbing stairs and ladders, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching both down and overhead.
  • Must frequently lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Regular exposure to unsanitary conditions.
  • Overtime may be required for scheduled work, with options for after-hours response and weekend availability.
