San Diego, California, United States River Partners Full time
Position Overview

Title: Restoration Science Ecologist

Location: Imperial Valley, CA

Reports to: Associate Director of Science

In this pivotal decade for environmental action, River Partners is expanding its team of dedicated professionals to tackle the pressing challenges facing California's ecosystems. Join us in our mission to rejuvenate the state's rivers and enhance community resilience.

About River Partners

Founded in 1998, River Partners is committed to revitalizing California's river systems. Our innovative conservation model leverages the restoration of river habitats to foster a sustainable future for both the environment and local communities.

By integrating modern agricultural practices with advanced scientific research and diverse partnerships, we have successfully restored extensive river landscapes and critical wildlife corridors. Our efforts have led to significant ecological improvements across nearly 20,000 acres, benefiting wildlife, enhancing flood safety, promoting climate resilience, conserving water, and supporting local economies.

Our Mission

Healthy rivers are vital for a thriving California, providing essential resources for agriculture, economic growth, and biodiversity. Despite being a biodiversity hotspot, only 5% of California's native riverside habitat remains intact, necessitating urgent restoration efforts.

The actions we undertake now will shape the future of California's natural resources and communities. Healthy rivers offer exponential benefits, ensuring a vibrant Golden State for generations to come.

Why Join Our Team

River Partners provides competitive compensation and benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan with immediate employer matching, paid time off, life insurance, disability coverage, and employee assistance programs.
