Position Profile

Weaver is on the lookout for skilled professionals to join our expanding Energy Compliance Services (ECS) team. Our ECS practice is focused on assisting businesses in navigating the complexities of compliance with evolving regulations, including those set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Environment and Climate Change Canada, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, and the California Air Resources Board, among others. Our ECS practice emphasizes managing human impacts on the environment, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing sustainability. We possess significant expertise in transportation fuel regulations, particularly regarding renewable fuels. We seek talented individuals to develop Lifecycle Analyses necessary for specific clean energy initiatives and new allowances under recent legislation.

This ECS Analyst will be part of the Technical Emissions team within the ECS practice. Responsibilities will include performing preparer duties on Lifecycle Analysis modeling and consulting projects, as well as focusing on compliance aspects as outlined by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS), along with various voluntary programs as requested by clients.

The subject matter encompasses the production of clean fuels or products, emissions modeling and accounting, and the production of fuels or their components (e.g., Clean Hydrogen). The regulations addressed by the ECS practice necessitate backgrounds and experience in environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, accounting, and legal disciplines.

To excel in this role, the following qualifications are required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field
  • 0 - 2+ years of experience in greenhouse gas emissions programs with familiarity in ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, etc.
  • Basic understanding of greenhouse gas modeling and reporting using various approaches
  • Familiarity with Argonne GREET model, GHGenius, CA-GREET, WA-GREET, or other LCA modeling software(s)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Leadership abilities and effective interaction with other professionals to advance projects and ideas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of technical laws and regulations related to the ECS practice
Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:
  • Professional License - Such as Engineering-in-Training (passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam)
