Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to assist the Asset Management Division and Property Manager by executing a range of tasks related to the daily operations of properties managed by the Housing Authority of Greenville. The individual in this position will handle the distribution and collection of applications and annual documents, verify applicant information, aid in assessing initial and ongoing eligibility, and provide additional support as necessary to assist the Property Manager and families residing in the properties.

All tasks must align with the mission, strategic objectives, and goals of the Housing Authority of Greenville.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities outlined below represent the general nature and scope of work. Additional duties and skills may be required and assigned as necessary.

  • Facilitates customer service for applicants and residents, managing incoming inquiries and providing information regarding program details.
  • Supports the coordination of pre-eligibility and full eligibility applications, including criminal background checks, credit assessments, and income verification, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and federal regulations.
  • Assists in reviewing applications for accuracy and completeness, as well as entering and updating data in the database system.
  • Prepares and dispatches annual recertification documents in accordance with established timelines.
  • Examines incoming recertification and interim documentation for completeness, gathering all necessary paperwork for processing by the Property Manager.
  • Collects mail from the property management mailbox and drop-box on a daily basis.
  • Retrieves necessary reports for interim and annual recertifications.
  • Conducts annual criminal background checks for all adult members of the household.
  • Helps maintain and update the waitlist for properties, ensuring timely purging of outdated entries.
  • Assists the Property Manager during quarterly inspections.
  • Performs administrative tasks as required or requested.
  • Handles routine clerical duties, including typing correspondence, maintaining records, copying and sending documents for filing, entering data into the computer, responding to emails, and answering phone calls.
