Job Overview

Salary Range: $57,218 - $71,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair Department of Defense (DoD) computing systems and workstations, both networked and standalone.
  • Assist users in resolving routine issues with computer systems or application software.
  • Provide direct or remote assistance to users for hardware and software challenges related to network and desktop systems.
  • Support F/A-18 & EA-18G Laboratory personnel by diagnosing IT issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Oversee and manage the laboratory's communication and internal networks, including the creation of software and database applications.
  • Install new software, enforce security protocols, ensure system backups, and monitor network performance.
  • Recommend enhancements for Lab Systems Administration processes.
  • Demonstrate technical and operational expertise in IT responsibilities, proactively executing projects and initiatives within the laboratory's IT framework.
  • Implement IT vulnerability patching and remediation measures.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Services Team on joint system requirements for network repairs or upgrades.
  • Conduct test support functions and maintain the Secure Defense Research & Engineering Network platform.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of customer-related requirements.
  • A High School diploma with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required. An associate degree with 1 year of direct experience may also be acceptable.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems is essential.
  • Experience with Windows 7/10 and Windows Server 2012/2016. Windows Operating System Certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Security + certification or an equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a COMSEC briefing and certification.
  • Physical ability to stand and be mobile for extended periods, including kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows servers.
  • Familiarity with OpenVMS.
  • Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Red Hat.
