Responsibilities in Customer Support Engineering:

  • Effectively communicate and respond to plant Quality Concern Notifications (QCNs)
  • Present issue resolution status to management
  • Act as a key liaison with Quality teams at both Ford and suppliers
  • Understand supplier manufacturing processes
  • Facilitate visits from supplier corporate offices
  • Deploy resources effectively from corporate offices
  • Recognize design responsibilities of suppliers
  • Understand parts directed to tier 2 with relevant agreements
  • Knowledgeable in specifications and compliance standards
  • Provide daily support across multiple shifts
  • Collaborate with Incoming Quality and PVT during investigations of quality concerns
  • Ensure timely delivery of defective parts returned to suppliers
  • Proactively address issues at the Ford plant
  • Verify the use of certified stock on the assembly line
  • Ensure suspect stock is quarantined or returned to suppliers
  • Understand the part return process for the assembly plant
  • Possess means to test and check parts functionally and visually
  • Drive closure on all issues and communicate status effectively
  • Manage early claims binning and inform suppliers
  • Handle disputes and attend relevant meetings
  • Communicate concerns regarding parts handling to appropriate teams
  • Familiarity with supplier manufacturing processes and quality control methods
  • Trained in problem-solving methodologies
  • Participate in regular meetings and audits related to quality
  • Facilitate warranty parts shipment and follow up on deliveries
  • Stay updated on open BSAQ projects and collaborate with relevant teams
  • Build relationships with VRT leaders and team members
