Company Overview:
Leidos is dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions and is currently seeking a Sustainability Consultant to enhance our initiatives aimed at promoting energy efficiency and conservation.

About the Role:
This position offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a team focused on implementing energy-saving programs and providing expert guidance to businesses. The Sustainability Consultant will collaborate with key stakeholders to facilitate the adoption of energy-efficient practices.

Key Responsibilities:
The Sustainability Consultant will be tasked with:

  • Developing and nurturing relationships with clients and contractors, acting as a trusted resource for energy efficiency.
  • Engaging with construction, design, and engineering firms to promote energy-efficient measures in new developments and renovations.
  • Identifying obstacles to participation in energy programs and devising innovative strategies to enhance engagement.
  • Supporting advancements in building energy codes and benchmarking for commercial properties.
  • Providing insights and support for energy efficiency projects in retail and multi-tenant environments.
  • Conducting training sessions and educational workshops to disseminate knowledge on energy efficiency.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert on energy efficiency trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Prioritizing projects and creating strategic plans for energy upgrades.
  • Analyzing energy consumption data to track and report on savings.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to measure and verify energy savings.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits and public engagements.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A solid understanding of commercial and residential development, particularly in new construction.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information effectively.
  • A client-focused mindset with a proven track record of building and managing relationships.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and independently.
  • A passion for sustainability and commitment to the mission of promoting energy efficiency.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for client meetings and site assessments.

Preferred Skills:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with energy modeling and simulation tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as CEM or LEED AP.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management software.
