Leidos is looking for a Sustainable Energy Specialist to contribute to our initiatives aimed at promoting clean energy solutions within the community.
For over a decade, our program has supported local families and businesses in making informed energy decisions that yield long-term benefits. We advocate for practical energy-saving practices that not only reduce costs but also foster economic growth and lessen electricity demand. Our team is dedicated to achieving the ambitious target of 100% clean energy by 2045.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate energy efficiency metrics and energy models for commercial projects.
- Conduct data collection and analysis for various stakeholders.
- Analyze utility billing data using statistical models to assess project outcomes and identify anomalies.
- Provide tailored energy consulting services to commercial clients.
- Perform on-site assessments to identify significant energy consumption areas and enhance operational efficiency.
- Draft technical reports and summaries for diverse audiences.
- Create educational resources for property owners and the construction sector.
- Design and assess measurement and verification plans, executing activities to quantify energy savings.
- Investigate and formulate prescriptive measures for innovative energy efficiency technologies.
- Deliver presentations at community events and stakeholder meetings.
- Utilize programming languages such as R, Python, or JavaScript to develop interactive data visualizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in engineering or project management.
- Proficiency in analytical programming languages and SQL.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, including report writing and advanced spreadsheet capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
- Physical capability to conduct energy audits and field assessments.
- Valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in project financing and cost analysis.
- Background in energy efficiency or the built environment.
- Familiarity with energy auditing standards and field measurement techniques.
- Experience in construction management or building maintenance.
- Strong programming skills.
