WATG is seeking a Lead Architectural Project Manager.

ROLE

The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with extensive experience in managing mid-to-large scale, intricate projects, ensuring successful design outcomes within budget and timelines. The Lead Architectural Project Manager will harmonize technical requirements with the overarching design vision, taking charge of the comprehensive study and documentation throughout the project's lifecycle. This role emphasizes effective communication, advanced design capabilities, and precise document execution. The Lead Architectural Project Manager will facilitate collaboration and coordinate with a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders, including client representatives, consultants, and contractors, optimizing resource utilization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and develop projects of medium to large scope, organizing and coordinating team assignments effectively.
  • Define the scope and develop innovative concepts and methodologies.
  • Translate the overall design intent established by the Project Designer into detailed technical documentation, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Oversee the design process from conceptualization through construction administration, ensuring fidelity to the design vision.
  • Report on the progress of assigned tasks during various project phases, managing team performance and reviewing labor hours against budgeted estimates.
  • Communicate project scope, schedule, costs, and budget requirements clearly.
  • Ensure that construction documentation and drawings adhere to quality assurance and best practice standards.
  • Coordinate the preparation of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain regular communication with client representatives to confirm design requirements and specifications, conduct progress reviews, and deliver final presentations.
  • Document and communicate changes to consultants and vendors, tracking resolutions effectively.
  • Participate in site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, coordinating contractor schedules and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and documentation.
  • Guide and review the work of the team, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Promote sustainable practices within the workplace and integrate sustainable design solutions into projects.
  • Engage in business development opportunities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
  • Professional license is required.
  • Environmental accreditation is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience managing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotels, mixed-use, and renovation projects.
  • Proficiency in technical skills, including AutoCAD and 3D modeling software such as Rhino and SketchUp.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit.
  • Sketching skills are essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, construction methodologies, QA/QC processes, and building codes.
  • Experience in client management and negotiations.
  • Effective project management skills, adhering to established deadlines and budgets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and supervise teams effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
