Key Responsibilities- Acts as a resource to patient services staff, providing training, work direction, and scheduling support.
- Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing guidance on complex issues.
- Assists with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing, staff development, and performance feedback.
- Greets patients and visitors, responds to routine requests, and answers telephone calls.
- Registers patients, obtains demographic and insurance information, and verifies coverage.
- Schedules appointments, coordinates cancellations and reschedules, and provides directional information.
- Updates insurance and patient information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Identifies and resolves problems regarding registration, and monitors patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care.
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in customer service and/or leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including delegation, team building, and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic mail.
- Understanding of basic medical terms and abbreviations.
