Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities by providing exceptional patient service and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected.
  • Verify insurance benefits and calculate patient responsibility.
  • Communicate with patients regarding payment expectations and financial obligations.
  • Collaborate with financial advocates to coordinate patient financial resources and responsibilities.
  • Monitor patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care.
  • Schedule patient visits and assist with new caregiver onboarding.
  • Work assigned EPIC work queues and maintain knowledge of insurance requirements and policies.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in customer service or clerical/office experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and understand issues and problems.
  • Mathematical aptitude, effective communication skills, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, speak effectively to customers, and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, squat, and bend frequently, as well as twist, rotate, and kneel occasionally. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. with assistance and have functional speech and hearing.
