Job Overview:

This role involves performing various warehouse functions under general supervision. The Material Handler 2 is responsible for the systematic and physical movement of materials, ensuring compliance with safety, cGMP, and quality standards. This position requires timely transaction of materials and maintaining necessary documentation as per quality protocols. The role may involve handling raw materials, hazardous goods, work-in-progress items, finished products, returned goods, and research materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of general job functions and a basic understanding of detailed tasks.
  • Utilize acquired knowledge of company policies and procedures to perform semi-routine tasks effectively.
  • Receive and verify incoming materials, ensuring accuracy in quality, type, and quantity.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including hand trucks and powered forklifts, to load, unload, and organize materials.
  • Pick, pack, and deliver materials to designated areas or internal customers as required.
  • Participate in cycle counting and inventory management activities.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Operate computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Maintain knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) for efficient material management.
  • Hold a valid forklift certification, with turret truck experience considered an advantage.
  • Maintain a clean driving record; a California Class A driver's license is a plus.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with strong mathematical skills.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel (0-5%) may be required.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience and a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require physical activities such as standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, frequent use of hands and arms, lifting objects up to 50 lbs, and occasional overhead reaching.

Work Environment:

Employees may encounter various environmental conditions, including working near moving parts, exposure to chemicals, and fast-paced settings.
