Position: Grief Support Counselor for Adults
Part-time - 20 hours per week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide counseling, education, and support to adult clients coping with the serious illness or death of a loved one through various methods including phone consultations, individual sessions, and group support.
  • Act as a resource for other HopeWest staff and community members regarding grief and anticipatory grief related to serious illness.
  • Offer 'grief in the workplace' assistance and educational resources to community organizations and businesses addressing issues related to serious illness or grief.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master's Degree in counseling or social work is mandatory.
  • Possession of an active, unrestricted Colorado license, such as LPC, LCSW, or LMFT, is required prior to the start of employment.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in counseling and grief support is essential.
  • Experience working with adults and older adults in a relevant environment is required.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Ability to adapt to various working environments.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 365.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly with individuals facing challenging situations.
  • Confidence in public speaking and group facilitation.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to client interactions.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Hourly rate of $32.00, with potential for additional shift differentials.
  • Premium pay for licensed professionals and bilingual candidates.
  • Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel at 60 cents per mile.
