About the Role

Hilltop Community Resources is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Participant Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our adult day program, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, stimulation, and enjoyment of our senior participants with dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist participants with activities of daily living, including toileting, walking, eating, and transferring, based on individual ability levels and degree of dementia.
  • Initiate conversation and social interaction with participants throughout the day, as well as with families during pick-up and drop-off.
  • Provide activity direction, including brain-stimulating, physical, and social activities, to promote engagement and well-being.
  • Observe and report health or behavior concerns/changes to the Director and nurse, and complete interventions and required documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Implement behavior management techniques, such as distraction, redirection, and validation, to diffuse anger or keep participants safe and reassured.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, stocking supplies, disinfecting, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchen areas.
  • Assist with loading and unloading participants in and out of transportation.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with all participants, while upholding their dignity and privacy rights.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and outside agencies to ensure seamless care and support.
