Role Responsibilities

The School Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address various student concerns, including family dynamics, academic challenges, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Assisting students in developing essential skills such as organization, time management, and effective study habits.
  • Collaborating with families and educators to connect students with community resources when necessary.
  • Facilitating social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives and classroom lessons.
  • Performing suicide risk assessments and working closely with the High School Dean on disciplinary matters.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling from a CACREP accredited institution.
  • A valid Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License with a School Counseling endorsement.
  • Familiarity with ASCA guidelines and a thorough understanding of school policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Employment Details

This is a part-time position, requiring 20 hours of work per week. The salary range is competitive, based on experience and educational background.
