The Senior Financial Planning Analyst will report directly to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and will collaborate with various departments including financial management, operations, and corporate accounting, as well as engage with different levels of corporate and executive leadership. This role is pivotal in supporting the comprehensive corporate forecasting and budgeting initiatives; it involves organizing and overseeing the collection of budgetary data, maintaining the budget system and database, and managing the ongoing forecasting and budgeting of Cost of Goods Sold. The position entails conducting financial analyses, reviewing actual financial data, and undertaking special projects as directed by the Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present a weekly and monthly business review presentation that highlights key operational metrics and performance indicators.
  • Maintain and distribute analysis reports on the Cost of Food and Paper to monitor year-over-year performance against budget expectations.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process for the Cost of Food and Paper by restaurant, collaborating with external partners to secure future commodity projections and working alongside Operations to establish food performance objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Finance to produce a comprehensive monthly forecast for the Cost of Food and Paper at the company level, incorporating updates from external partners on commodity projections.
  • Generate a monthly delivery performance analysis from third-party providers, detailing sales and profitability metrics.
  • Assess the impact of pricing strategies implemented by the company and relay findings to the FLOW (productive labor) team for necessary adjustments to the labor model.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly reporting package by conducting bridge (waterfall) analyses that measure year-over-year P&L performance and provide insightful commentary on variances.
  • Conduct additional ad hoc research and analysis, which may include evaluating local promotional performance and its effects on overall performance.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis and/or financial planning is required.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling is essential.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving capabilities and proven analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage across all organizational levels.
  • High proficiency in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with financial software, reporting, or financial planning applications is advantageous.
