POSITION:
Intake Specialist
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Intake Specialist will report to the Program Manager and is tasked with achieving outreach and intake objectives for Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Programs and Summer Youth Programs.
This role involves conducting comprehensive outreach activities to attract new clients to the Youth Center. The specialist will assist clients during orientation and registration by explaining program eligibility and guidelines. In addition, the specialist will perform thorough assessments in accordance with program standards and goals.
Another critical function includes establishing and maintaining a Management Information System (MIS) database for client records, ensuring all eligibility documentation and necessary information are up to date to comply with program requirements.
The Intake Specialist will also coordinate and take part in recruitment events, ensuring that client satisfaction is prioritized throughout the registration, orientation, assessment, and follow-up stages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in direct customer interaction, community outreach, and collaboration with business sectors is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a professional customer service demeanor and possess strong communication abilities. Proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must have reliable transportation with insurance and a valid California Driver's License. A criminal background check and drug screening will be required prior to employment. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster is also necessary.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
A Bachelor’s degree along with one (1) year of relevant professional experience, or a combination of education and three (3) years of professional experience in assessment, outreach, recruitment, MIS, career counseling, placement, and related fields is required.
