Position Summary: The Major Gifts Officer role at Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. is pivotal in managing donor relations and spearheading strategic fundraising efforts. This position is responsible for effectively identifying, nurturing, soliciting, and maintaining relationships with major gift donors to enhance annual contributions and secure long-term commitments. The role emphasizes the importance of cultivating robust donor relationships, developing strategies to expand the prospect pipeline, and contributing to the achievement of ambitious fundraising objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of 50-75 major donors, with a focus on increasing annual contributions and securing new donations of $10,000 or more.
  • Lead initiatives for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for current and prospective donors contributing $10,000 or more.
  • Collaborate with Apollo leadership and team members to identify innovative methods for engaging donors.
  • Formulate strategies to broaden opportunities among high-net-worth individuals.
  • Coordinate major gift activities, manage tracking systems for donations, and support special fundraising events.
  • Work closely with the Development Team and senior management to forecast and monitor major gifts.
  • Assist in cultivating patron relationships and provide exceptional hospitality at events.
  • Engage in meetings and collaborate with volunteers and Board members as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit individual giving.
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in creating financial reports and collaborating across departments.
  • Experience with nonprofit database systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable about the arts and culture sector.

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000.

Vaccination Policy: The organization requires vaccination but will consider accommodations for medical and religious reasons.

Work Environment: This position may offer a hybrid work schedule, allowing for remote work on select days.
