Position Summary: The Major Gifts Officer at Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. plays a pivotal role in managing donor relationships and spearheading strategic fundraising efforts. This position is essential for identifying, nurturing, soliciting, and maintaining relationships with major gift donors, thereby enhancing annual contributions and securing long-term commitments. The role emphasizes the importance of building robust donor connections, creating innovative strategies to expand the prospect pipeline, and contributing to the achievement of ambitious fundraising objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of 50-75 major donors, with a focus on increasing annual contributions and securing new donations of $10,000 or more.
  • Lead efforts in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for current and prospective donors contributing $10,000 or more.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to develop creative strategies for donor engagement.
  • Formulate plans to enhance opportunities among high-net-worth individuals.
  • Coordinate major gift initiatives, manage tracking systems for donations, and support special fundraising events.
  • Work closely with the Development Team and senior management to forecast and monitor major gifts.
  • Assist in arranging high-level donor cultivation events and provide exceptional hospitality.
  • Engage in meetings and collaborate with volunteers and Board members as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit individual giving.
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in creating financial reports and collaborating across departments.
  • Experience with nonprofit database systems is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with the arts and culture sector in New York City.

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000.

Vaccination Policy: The organization requires vaccination but will consider accommodations for medical and religious reasons.

Work Environment: This position may offer a hybrid work schedule, allowing for remote work several days a week.
