Position Overview:
The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) will develop a comprehensive Community School that champions racial and social equity, amplifies the voices of youth and families, and strengthens the capacity of young individuals and families to succeed.

The CEC plays a crucial role in helping the school community achieve its objectives by fostering positive relationships, utilizing data-driven approaches, and ensuring effective systems coordination.

Reporting Structure:
The CEC will report directly to the BACR Community School Manager and collaborate closely with the school principal and the WCCUSD office of Family and Community Engagement.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $68,000-$72,000 (dependent on experience)
Approximately 7 weeks of leave annually (including holidays)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data from diverse sources, evaluate findings, and make informed recommendations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including active listening.
- Demonstrated experience in grassroots community organizing and leadership development.
- Familiarity with community resources.
- Capacity to build and lead high-performing teams and facilitate group dynamics.
- Cultural awareness and a strong commitment to equity and social justice.
- Proven ability to establish trust and effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Understanding of political, economic, and social barriers to educational equity.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, education, or a related field, along with three years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for education).
- Experience working with low-income communities.

English/Spanish

Key Responsibilities:
Management and Administration:
- Collaborate to establish efficient systems that promote healthy and safe educational environments.
- Facilitate a productive CARE team to ensure equitable access to targeted interventions, including managing referrals, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes.
- Lead an Action Collaborative with key stakeholders (students, parents, caregivers, administrators, teachers, and staff) to conduct ongoing needs assessments, develop implementation plans, monitor progress, and communicate findings with the broader school community.
- Support the integration of services and school priorities through participation in various committees and teams as appropriate.
- Manage budgets allocated to community programs and initiatives, ensuring responsible fund allocation.
- As a lead strategist, collect and analyze data on student performance, program outcomes, and community engagement to assess effectiveness and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Engagement and Collaboration:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, caregivers, administrators, teachers, staff, community leaders, and local organizations.
- Conduct community asset mapping to identify resources that address gaps and aspirations identified in the needs assessment.
- Establish and oversee partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to ensure shared accountability and alignment with school objectives.
- Organize events that engage students and families in the school's priorities and goals.
- Create and support a student leadership group that elevates student voice and decision-making within the school's systems and programs.

Advocacy:
- Act as an advocate for the needs and interests of the school's staff, students, and their families within the broader community.
- Participate in advocacy initiatives that promote educational equity and social justice.
