Community Engagement Program Manager

The Community Engagement Program Manager (CEPM) is instrumental in developing a high-impact Community School dedicated to advancing racial and social equity, empowering youth and families, and nurturing vibrant communities. By fostering positive relationships, employing data-informed strategies, and orchestrating effective systems, the CEPM plays a vital role in fulfilling the objectives of the school community. Reporting to the BACR Community School Manager, the CEPM works in close partnership with the school principal and the WCCUSD office of Family and Community Engagement.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $68,000-$72,000 annually (Based on Experience)
  • Generous Leave: Approximately 7 weeks per year (including holidays)

Essential Qualifications:

  • Data Analysis: Proficient in gathering, interpreting, and analyzing data from various sources to guide decision-making
  • Communication Proficiency: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with active listening abilities
  • Community Involvement: Background in grassroots organizing and leadership development
  • Resource Awareness: Familiarity with community resources
  • Team Leadership: Ability to build and lead effective teams

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building trust and collaboration with diverse stakeholders
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Equity Knowledge: Understanding of barriers to educational equity
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Google Suite
  • Independent Work: Capability to work autonomously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related field, with three years of relevant experience
  • Community Experience: Experience working with low-income communities
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual in English and Spanish

Key Responsibilities:

Management and Administration

  • Establish effective systems for safe and healthy school environments
  • Lead targeted intervention initiatives and evaluate progress
  • Facilitate collaborations among stakeholders and monitor implementation
  • Integrate services in alignment with school priorities
  • Oversee community program budgets and assess effectiveness
  • Analyze student performance and engagement data for ongoing improvement
  • Align school objectives with the Community School Implementation Plan
  • Ensure adherence to reporting requirements

Engagement and Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Identify community resources through asset mapping
  • Establish partnerships with local organizations and businesses
  • Organize engaging events for students and families
  • Empower student leadership within the school

Advocacy

  • Advocate for the needs of school stakeholders within the community
  • Participate in advocacy initiatives for educational equity
