POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sous Chef, in collaboration with the Pastry Chefs, oversees and manages designated kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to the restaurant's high standards of food quality and hygiene.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate to enhance guest experience, service quality, operational efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
  • Guarantee that all culinary items are consistently prepared and presented according to established standards.
  • Supervise the kitchen team to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to meet and exceed operational standards.
  • Assist in achieving business goals related to sales, quality, and cleanliness through effective training and a positive work environment.
  • Organize daily tasks with Chef de Parties and delegate responsibilities to commis and externs for optimal efficiency.
  • Focus on the continuous development of staff in culinary knowledge and skills.
  • Complete all required documentation in an organized and timely manner.
  • Manage labor scheduling in accordance with anticipated business needs while meeting staffing and budgetary objectives.
  • Ensure proper receipt of products, verifying unit counts and conditions, in line with receiving protocols.
  • Understand and apply bakery policies regarding personnel management in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Encourage a culture of mentorship and training among team members.
  • Maintain open communication with Chefs regarding daily operations and future planning.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and environments are kept clean and in excellent working order through regular inspections.
  • Participate in scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for operational improvements.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations applicable to the restaurant and its staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent exposure to various allergens.
