Executive Pastry Chef Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Pastry Sous Chef to lead our team of professional sweet makers at L'Amico, a restaurant featuring an American menu with Italian influences, honoring the food of Executive Chef Laurent Tourondel's past and present. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the pastry team in the kitchen while the Pastry Chef is off, upholding the quality of the pastry program and restaurant standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scale-out ingredients and prepare desserts according to recipes
  • Ensure timely delivery of menu items on order
  • Ensure proper presentation of menu items
  • Help innovate menu items alongside the Pastry Chef
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Communicate effectively with fellow cooks to ensure consistent food delivery
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed or required by the Executive Chef

Requirements:

  • A passion for restaurants and food
  • Experience in pastry
  • A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid work ethic
  • Comfort in high volume environments
  • The ability to carry more than 20+ lbs.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Food handlers certificate required
