Pastry Chef Job Opportunity

Mary Giuliani Catering & Events is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team in the production of our in-house pastry program.

We are a boutique catering company with a high-end clientele in the arts, entertainment, and fashion industries. Our reputation is built on reimagining comfort foods into elevated fan favorites.

The part-time Pastry Chef will be responsible for producing our pastry program at our commissary kitchen in Queens. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills and knowledge in all areas of pastry production, including:

Petit Fours and Dessert Canapés

Production of small bites for passed or stationary sweets, including tartlets, cakes, donuts, choux-style pastries, custards, and more.

Plated Desserts and Composition

Production of components and garnishes for seated lunch or dinner events, including plate design and instruction for transport, temperature holding, and execution.

Simple Breads

Production of simple loaves, focaccias, pizza dough, rolls for events or utilization by our savory department.

Conference Style Baked Goods

Production of cookies, brownies, bars, breakfast breads, and muffins.

Collaboration and Technicality

Work with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef on seasonal menu creation, managing custom requests, and sourcing specialty ingredients. Ability to follow recipes, measure, weigh, and mix recipes from start to finish with precision and attention to detail.

This is a part-time, competitive hourly position based on event needs and our business forecast. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work events for supplemental income. This is a great opportunity for growth for the right candidate as we are looking to expand our pastry department.
