Manufacturing Engineer Position at Raytheon Technologies

At Raytheon Technologies, we are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, controlling, and improving the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team. You will also be responsible for improving cycle time and lead time, implementing manufacturing process control and performance monitoring, creating and overseeing improvement projects, translating engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes, performing hardware defect analysis, and participating in corrective action investigations.

- Implement manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
- Create and oversee improvement projects
- Translate engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes
- Perform hardware defect analysis
- Participate in corrective action investigations
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience
- 5 years' experience with interpretation of technical documentation (i.e. Engineering drawings and specifications)
- 2 years' experience with project execution and lean manufacturing
- 5 years' experience with the creation and revision of assembly work instructions in a manufacturing environment
- 5 years' experience with a shop floor management system (i.e. SAP, PRISM, ERP, MRP, or similar manufacturing software)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lean manufacturing and project execution
- Experience with technical writing
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance analysis
- Experience reading, understanding and using drawings, schematics, blueprints and/or operating manuals to solve technical production and equipment problems
- Technical problem solving
- Active DOD Security Clearance
- Demonstrated ability to follow rules and regulations. Willing to comply with all pertinent Raytheon Environmental, Health, & Safety Organizational Directives and Instructions and other applicable Program and Site Directives and Raytheon Company Policies
- Understanding of all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development and advanced manufacturing initiatives, continuing through production implementation and extending to support of customer requirements and supply chain demands
- Experience in statistical process control
- Experience in accurately diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to restore production functionality
- Demonstrated analytical skills to ascertain production or process weaknesses and provide process improvement solutions
- Demonstrated ability to select new machines, components and equipment to meet program performance requirements
- Experience in adjusting software parameters on production or process equipment to fix problems or improve performance
- Capable of diagnosing problem root cause with limited upfront information
- Ability to perform project management and risk mitigation
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)
