Project Estimator

The Project Estimator will engage in diverse project types, requiring a flexible, results-driven team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. This role demands self-motivation, consistency, and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare work for estimation by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technology by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Prepare quotes and RFQ packages by gathering necessary information.
- Draft and email clear quotes with accurate details for pricing from capable suppliers.
- Maintain communication on the status of all quotes.
- Maintain RFQ files by converting, organizing, and saving information according to the company's electronic system.
- Knowledge of Jaynes' capacity, capabilities, possibilities, and limitations of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to prioritize and work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations such as heavy/varying workload and order accuracy.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results while maintaining a positive and professional company image.
- Frequent local and statewide travel is required.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in commercial estimating on projects from $5 - $20 million.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Timberline Estimating, and OST software preferred.
- Experience in utilizing AutoCAD and other drafting tools preferred.
- Ability to read part prints.
- Must have math skills, including multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, and conversion of units of measure.
- Computer skills, including web navigation, document scanning, typing, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Office application competency.
- Effective and professional communication skills - verbal and written.
- Be detail-oriented, possess the ability to multitask, and have flexibility.
