Role Responsibilities:

The Market Manager is primarily responsible for enhancing the sales of our esteemed beer portfolio. This entails direct engagement with key On and Off-Premise accounts, boosting sales, securing new distribution channels in both existing and new accounts, and collaborating closely with the distributor network within the designated territory to nurture and expand all accounts.

Key Duties Include:

  • Relentlessly pursuing new On & Off-Premise distribution opportunities
  • Engaging with existing key accounts to sustain and grow distribution, deliver timely presentations, and introduce new and limited release beers
  • Implementing weekly On and Off-Premise promotions and special events that enhance brand visibility and facilitate consumer sampling, as well as securing new distribution at targeted accounts
  • Cultivating and maintaining robust, positive relationships with account staff and distributor sales teams
  • Setting a benchmark for follow-up and follow-through in all aspects of the role
  • Traveling for company meetings, participating in market blitzes in various territories, and collaborating with other members of the Firestone Walker team to execute and achieve the sales strategy
  • Completing necessary administrative reporting and communications promptly
  • Meeting all sales targets and personal budgets set for you and your territory
  • Performing other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Required Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree along with prior experience in a sales role; experience in beer sales is highly desirable
  • Cicerone certification or equivalent beer certification is strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Firestone Walker beers, other craft beers, and the craft beer industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information
  • Persuasive abilities to influence decision-making and encourage behavioral changes
  • Active listening skills, crucial for understanding account needs and fulfilling those requirements
  • Excellent time management, demonstrating proactivity and initiative
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination skills, effectively managing priorities and routine tasks
  • Social perceptiveness, understanding the reactions of others and the reasons behind them
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, able to gather, assess, and interpret relevant information to make informed judgments
  • Negotiation skills, adept at reconciling differences and bringing parties together

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using a laptop and related software (Windows, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Familiarity with CRM software such as VIP Karma, Lilypad, or similar
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, along with a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle, with the ability to travel to and from accounts regularly
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends, exceeding 40 hours per week, and the capability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must reside within the designated territory
  • Prior experience with a supplier or distributor is essential

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation, including a base salary and performance bonuses. Base Salary ranges from $64,000 to $70,000 annually
