Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sales and growth strategies for our sequencing and pharma products and services with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies for their clinical trials and R&D programs.
  • Work to continuously promote organic growth through educating target markets of our company's products, development, and customer service programs.
  • Track leading indicator goals and sales incentive goals for each target market, identifying improvement plans for missing goal targets.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and negotiate sales arrangements and terms.
  • Achieve territory sales and revenue goals.
  • Guide, train, and evaluate NGS Pharma Partnerships business development team. Manage and assign projects, as well as provide mentorship on business ethics and behavior.

Requirements

  • B.S. or Master's degree in life sciences, genetics, or biotechnology.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or project management in the Pharma/biotech/clinical trial sector.
  • Deep understanding of Next Generation Sequencing.
  • Good understanding of pathology services.
  • Good understanding of clinical trials.
  • Strong capability to engage in technical discussions with scientists in Pharma/biotech sector.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Availability to travel ≥25% of the time.
  • Experience servicing technical leads at pharmaceutical companies (e.g. biomarker specialists).
